Upon arrival you will be picked up from Kilimanjaro International Airport. You will be met and assisted by our
staff that will answer all your queries and provide a short brief regarding your upcoming Safari. From there you will
be transported to Masailand Safari & Lodge for an overnight stay. Your meal plan will be on Half-Board.
Day 2: Arusha – Tarangire National Park
After Breakfast you will depart from the hotel at 07:00 am with your packed lunch boxes and drive
to Tarangire National Park.
Tarangire National Park is approximately 130kms from Arusha town, a maximum of 2-3 hours’
drive to the Park for a game drive.
Tarangire National Park is 2850 sq. km in size and probably best known for its large numbers of
elephants, and herds of Buffalos, Zebras, Wildebeest, Lions, Leopard, Warthog, Ostrich and
numerous Bird species.
The name of the park comes from the TARA, meaning river of NGIRI- which means Warthog. So
Tarangire means “River of Warthogs” which crosses through the park.
Surrounded by scattered Baobab trees also known as the tree of life for its almost mythical powers
that some cultures attach to it.
Tarangire is especially spectacular during the dry season (June – November) as wildlife
concentrations rival that of the Serengeti (since enormous populations of Elephants and other
animals are drawn to the Tarangire River as their only source of water).
With its varied habitats and permanent water in the Tarangire River the park is home to over 2000
elephants and 500 bird species.
Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast you will depart at 8:00 am with packed lunches then descend down to the Crater
floor for a 5 -6 hours a Crater game drive.
Ngorongoro Conservation Area is named one of the eighth natural wonders of the world “Heritage
Site” due to the amusing of the crater.
Ngorongoro Crater is the largest intact crater in the world.
About 2 million years ago the Ngorongoro volcano erupted, and its walls collapsed. The volcano
floor sank to create a natural enclosure with its 600m tall walls.
At over 19 kilometers wide, Ngorongoro Crater is filled with great areas of acacia forest, hippo filled
swamps and open grasslands. These different habitats contain over 30,000 animals – including
Elephants, Warthogs, Flamingos, magnificent Birdlife, the rare black Rhinoceros and all the
predatory Cats.
The Masai can also be seen grazing their cattle alongside the Buffalo and Wild beast.
Later on, around 03:00pm you will be driven back to Arusha where you will be spending an overnight at Masailand Safari & Lodge. Your meal plan will be on Half Board Basis.
Day 4: Departure
After breakfast you will be taken to the Airport (you will advise on the time) ready for your trip back home or to
your next destination.
